Nature

Here you will find poems about love for Nature

 and the natural environment

Flashback

Miliardi d'umani su miliardi di strade

rumori, parole, spari e dolori,

per incanto, scomparsi

nel silenzio

serale.

Flashback

Billions of humans on billions of streets

 noises, words, shots and sorrows,

   magically, vanished

      in the evening

    silence.

Foglie arrossate di vigneti lontani

specchiano fiamme di nuvole sparse,

nel calmo tramonto

d’un tiepido

autunno.

Reddened leaves of faraway vineyards

  reflect flames of scattered clouds,

  in the calm sunset

 of a lukewarm

   autumn.

Laggiù, nei campi arati di fresco,

ove l’umida terra traspira silenzi,

un uomo lavora,

con fatica

da sempre.

Down there, in the newly plowed fields

where the damp earth sweats silence,

  a man works

       with ancient

       fatigue.

Placide mucche, ruminando pensieri,

ascoltano i suoni dei moti celesti

di mondi lontani

e, nel tempo,

remoti.

Placid cows, chewing on thoughts,

listen to the sounds of celestial movements

    of worlds far away

     and, in time,

         remote.

L'infinita tristezza dell'Universo

piange negli occhi di un cane pastore

spenti da un velo

di opaca

vecchiaia.

The infinite sadness of the universe

cries in the eyes of a sheep dog

     extinguished by a veil

   of clouded

         old age.

Oltre la valle, fra le azzurre montagne,

l‘eco ormai stanca del triste abbaiare

risuona ovattata,

poi si perde,

lontano.

Beyond the valley, among the blue mountain

the already tired echo of the sad howling

   resounds muffled

   then is lost,

         distant.

Come un sipario di vapore dorato,

cala dall’alto, lentamente, la sera.

Un lungo sospiro,

cristallizza

la pace.

Like a curtain of golden mist,

the evening descends, slowly, from above.

  A long sigh

   crystallizes

 the peace.

Dalle toppe dei prati lungo il sentiero,

dall'umido scavo a lato del fiume,

leggera, la nebbia

comincia a

salire.

Lenzuolo di nube

che viene a

coprire.

Parentesi, come battito d'ala,

che, piano, spegne il mio lume

Un attimo

prima di

dormire…

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the patches of meadow along the path,

from the moist cave alongside the river,

 the mist, light,

   begins to

  climb.

   Blanket of cloud

      that comes to

       cover.

Parentheses of a brief wing beat

   that, slowly, encloses my light

                   A moment

                               before

                                 sleeping …

Stelle  e Lumini  //  Stars and Little Lights

Stelle  e Lumini

Calda notte d’estate:

In alto,

 eterne,

le stelle.

Indifferenti

 all’effimera fine

 degli umani lumini.

Stars and Little Lights

Warm summer night:

I rest on the sea’s wave

my little light

for August’s celebration

The breeze greets it and pushes it offshore

Ripples,

disappears,

reappears,

sways,

and vanishes again.

This unites the other trembling lights

They nurture each other

then, one by one,

they turn off,

in the deep valleys of distant waves

But my little light still remains

ripples,

disappears,

reappears,

sways,

but eventually it vanishes

in front of the tallest and blackest waves of the sea

Aloft,

eternal,

the stars.

Indifferent

of the ephemeral end

of the human lights.
