apparentemente senza senso.

Ho viaggiato in un lembo d'Universo,

stupita del mio effimero, inspiegabile Presente.

E ho ruotato su questa nostra folle giostra,

dove s’accalcano gli umani e s’ammucchiano i rifiuti.

E ho sentito perdersi fra gli astri

le grida e gli scoppi della guerra.

O Terra, mia Terra violentata e guasta,

O Terra, sciagurato disturbo del Mistero;

il tuo labile Presente mi appartiene,

e il tuo Eterno Moto è il solo Vero.

Intanto, lontani, profili d'acuminati monti

addentano, con i morsi ormai scuri della notte,

le acque inquiete del profondo.

Mentre io, stesa sulla sabbia,

ancora ruoto nei vortici dei mondi.

Stretched on the Sand

Eternal, sweet fading sunset

on the quivering pearly sea

I stretch out on the sand with open arms,

to feel at one with the earth.

To feel as if I were together with the past lives

 extinguished on earth.

To feel as if  I were together with the future lives

that will light up again, for an instant,

to see the light of the same stars.

I stretched out on the sand with open arms,

in order to feel at one with the earth.

And I traveled with her at an extraordinary velocity.

And I let myself be carried in the immense emptiness

Swirling amidst the stars and planets, in ellipses and in spirals

apparently without sense.

I traveled in an edge of the Universe,

astonished at my evanescent, inexplicable Present.

And I rotated on this deranged carousel,

where the humans huddle and garbage piles.

And I felt lost amidst the stars and planets

The cries and explosions of the war.

Oh Earth, my raped and damaged Earth,

oh Earth, wretched disorder of the Mystery;

your fleeting Present belongs to me,

and your internal motion is the only Truth.

In the meantime, far away, profiles of sharp mountains

bite, with morsels already dark from the night,

the deep restless waters.

Meanwhile, I am stretched out on the sand,

still rotating in the vortex of the world.

Isola-Terra  //   Island-Earth

Isola-Terra

Isola-Terra:

minuscolo punto

sperduto nel nero del cosmo

Biglia di luce;

zaffiro di mari,

smeraldo di boschi.

Perla di vita

negli abissi del nulla.

Gioiello prezioso

unico e puro

in mani volgari

immonde e perverse.

Sarai

palla di sporco,

esaurito rifiuto

sola e diversa.

Inutile scarto,

dell’Universo.

Island-Earth:

Island Earth:

tiny point lost

within the dark universe.

Marble of light:

sapphire of seas,

emerald of woods.

Pearl of life

in the abysses of Nothing.

Precious jewel

unique and pure

in vulgar,

in filthy,

greedy and wicked hands.

Ball of dirt,

you’ll remain

drained and refused,

alone and different.

Useless waste

of the Universe.

Guardaci Terra!

Guardaci Terra,

guardaci ancora!

Guardaci Terra!

Non coprire

l'antico viso.

con le tue generose mani.

Perdonaci

come amorosa madre

che sempre perdona quelli

a cui donò il soffio della vita.

Apri le tue immense braccia

e accoglici ancora

nel tuo seno di pace

da cui siamo nati.

Guardaci Terra,

guardaci ancora!

Look at Us, Earth!

                               Look at us, Earth,

                               look at us again!

                               Look at us, Earth!

                               Don't cover

                               that ancient face

                               with your benevolent hands.

                                               Forgive us

                                               like a loving mother

                                               who always forgives those

to whom she gave the breath of life.

                                               Open your enormous arms

                                               and embrace us again

                                               in your bosom of peace

                                               from which we were born.

                                                                              Look at us, Earth,

                                                                              look at us again!

Questa notte  //  Tonight

Questa notte

esplodono lontanissime stelle,

 implodono spirali di ammassi,

 ruotano miliardi di astri.

e si srotola il tempo del Cosmo

Questa notte

sfrecciano, nel buio del mondo,

lunghi treni su rotaie infinite.

.

Questa notte

corrono, su tutte le strade,

miliardi di nere ruote gommate.

Questa notte

le onde dei mari

si infrangono su tutte le spiagge

e soffiano tutti i venti nelle vallate

e scorrono le acque dei fiumi

e inquinano l'aria

milioni di fumi.

Questa notte

nascono miliardi di vite

di tutte le specie create

e muoiono miliardi di vite

per far posto a quelle già nate.

Questa notte

si amano milioni di uomini

e si odiano milioni di uomini

e si uccidono in guerre spietate.

Tonight

Stars explode as far as the eye can see,

Spiral clusters implode,

Billions of stars and planets rotate,

And Cosmic time unravels itself

Tonight

On infinite tracks long trains

Shoot through the world’s darkness

Tonight

Billions of black rubber tires

dart through all of the streets

Tonight

The ocean’s waves

Break upon all of the beaches

And all of the wide valley’s winds blow

And the water of the rivers flow

And millions of fumes contaminate the air

Tonight

Billions of lives are born

Of all the species created

And billionsThis little poem. of lives die

In order to make place for those already born.

Tonight

Millions of men love one another

Millions of men hate one another

And kill one another in ruthless wars.

Questa notte,

qui,

sotto la flebile luce

del cielo stellato,

qui,

 in camera mia,

qui,

su questa vecchia scrivania,

io scrivo,

solitaria,

questa  piccola poesia

poesia.

Tonight,

here,

under the light

of starry sky,

Here,

In my bedroom,

Here,

On this old desk,

I write,

Alone,

this little poem.

Big Bang

Big Bang.

Big Crunch.

Big Bounce.

Big Spaces for endless zooms.

Small Earth.

Small man.

Small thought of mine,

bewildered,

subjugated by the Infinite.

I pick up

in my small bucket

some water of the immense Ocean

and I entertain myself

with such a childish game

in the infinitesimal time of a life.

Big Bang.

Big Crunch.

Big Bounce.

Big Spazi per Zoom senza fine.

Piccola Terra.

Piccolo uomo.

Piccolo pensiero mio,

sbigottito,

soggiogato dall’Immenso.

Raccolgo

nel mio piccolo secchiello

un po’ d’acqua dell’Oceano infinito

e mi trastullo

con tal infantil gioco

nell’infinitesimo tempo di una vita.

Eco-Decalogue        Eco-Decalogo

Eco - Decalogue

1) I am the Earth, thy planet.

2) Thou shalt have no other Earth before me.

3) Thou shalt not make an overheated greenhouse of me.

4) Honour and preserve the enchantment of my landscapes.

5) Thou shalt not pour tars in my seas.

6) Thou shalt not cover me with plastic bags and garbage.

7) Thou shalt not suffocate me with fumes.

8) Thou shalt not burn my woods; only deserts and cements would be left.

9) Thou art not the owner, but a guest, as all the living beings.

10) Thou cannot  use me  and then throw me away; there are no spare parts,

that’s why, melting my last ices, I desperately cry.

Eco – Decalogo

perciò sciogliendo i miei ultimi ghiacci, disperata,  piango.

Silent rotations  //   Rotazioni silenziose

Silent rotations

The evening descends

on the snowy mountain tops.

Below,

dark deep canyons sleep,

quiet and covered

by soft eiderdowns of fog.

Still, weak embers burn

on the borders of dull clouds,

memories of life,

that just warm up

the far peaks, westwards.

Without effort, without noise,

without a whistling wind,

the Earth swiftly spins

and, leaving the light behind,

dives in the icy, already dark, sky

from which, trembling, arise the stars.

Quickly spins the ancient top,

with impatient hurry,

towards the deep nothing,

in the silent usual emptiness.

Sweeping the spaces,

spin-drying history,

it disperses spurts of lives and deaths,

leaving behind, in the dark past,

wakes of passions and emotions,

faded by now,

to swallow a new present forever.

Charged by its dazzling companion,

wrapped in the old life veil,

changing, spins the sky-blue bowl.

At each turn, its green garment

tears apart.

At each turn, wounds of fires

and scars of deserts.

At each turn, whither

the wrinkles of roads and walls.

At each turn, festers

of cements and channels.

The blue sea becomes yellow,

darkens the white cloud cocoon.

So, any time more wasted and faded,

it spins with its sister-spheres,

running, swiftly, in the row of stars

of the big bright Spiral

which runs away with the other Galaxies

towards the empty future that awaits them.

Spinning and running the worlds spread,

they zealously obey to the forced motions

of the iron law which moves them all.

They make haste, to perform their destiny

in the light and immense

rainbow-coloured bubble

which, finally, in a puff,

will burst,

to astonish,

the one who had blown it.

Rotazioni silenziose

Giunge la sera

sulle cime innevate dei monti.

Giù, in basso,

dormono scuri valloni profondi,

quieti e ben rimboccati

da lievi piumini di nebbie.

Ardono ancora deboli braci

sui bordi di nuvole spente,

ricordi di vita,

che scaldano, appena,

le vette lontane, a Ponente.

Senza fatica, senza rumore,

senza un sibilo di vento,

ruota veloce la Terra,

e, lasciando la luce alle spalle,

s’immerge, nel gelido cielo già buio,

da cui nascono, tremando, le stelle.

Rotola, svelta, la trottola antica

con impaziente premura,

verso il nulla profondo,

nel silenzioso vuoto di sempre.

Spazzando gli spazi

centrifugando la storia,

disperde spruzzi di vite e di morti,

lasciandosi dietro, nel buio passato,

scie di passioni e d’emozioni ormai spente,

per ingoiare sempre nuovo presente.

Caricata dal suo abbagliante compagno,

avvolta nell’antico velo di vita,

ruota, cangiante, la boccia celeste.

Ogni giro, si lacera

la verdissima veste,

Ogni giro si piaga d’incendi

e cicatrizza in deserti.

Ogni giro, avvizzisce

in rughe di strade e di muri.

Ogni giro si piaga

di cementi e canali.

S’ ingiallisce l’azzurro dei mari,

s’offusca il bozzolo bianco di nubi.

Così, sempre più spenta e sciupata,

ruota colle sfere sorelle,

correndo, veloce, nel braccio di stelle

della grande Spirale lucente

che fugge con le altre Galassie

verso il vuoto futuro che attende.

Ruotando e correndo si dilatano i mondi,

solerti obbediscono ai moti obbligati

della ferrea legge che tutti li muove.

S’affrettano, per compiere il loro destino

nell’immensa e leggera bolla iridata

che, alla fine, in un soffio,

scoppierà,

per stupire,

chi l’aveva soffiata.

Past and Future of Earth

Moonless night

full of perfumes,

empty of sounds.

Moonless night…

Absence of Present.

A dark cloth

of silence

proceeds and extends

to cover the Past of the world.

But in the stirred swinging

of the reeds in the ditch,

in this moonless night,

trembles

the Apocalypse

of the Future.

Passato e Futuro della Terra

Notte senza luna

pregna di profumi

vuota di suoni.

Notte senza luna…

Assenza di presente.

Avanza e si distende

un drappo oscuro

di silenzio

a coprire il  Passato del mondo.

Ma nell’oscillare  agitato

delle canne del fossato,

in questa notte senza luna,

trema

 l’Apocalisse

del  Futuro.

MOON    LUNA

Moon

Against black outlines

of twisted branches

the winter moon, white,

rises.

Poetry for yesterday’s poets…

   Nostalgia for mysteries.

  Moon:

moon-landing,  albedo,

cirques, craters,

eclipses, syzygies, librations,

epicycloyd, epigee, apogee,

quadratures, knots, nutations...

       Moon:

      emotions?  None.

And then the sight goes further:

Andromeda, Vega,

Orion and Perseus

and the slim light

of a galaxy not too much distant

     New planets, other worlds?

         Does anyone call us ?

Then, a dive in the void

of the deep spaces,

there, where the Great Attractor,

with flaming spirals,

with an immense and insatiable eddy,

devours time and space and mass.

 and the ancient mystery resurfaces

And then further,

nebulas and clusters

with heaps of burning stars.

And then further

invisible and black holes,

voracious spiders, crouched

in the nets of the cosmos,

impenetrable mysteries,

dark epitaphs of stars,

exploded and disappeared

in a flash!

And then further...

back in time:

a blanket

of trembling lights,

of feeble quasars,

of rhythmic pulsars.

And then further..

a rain of invisible rays

started in the beginning of Time.

           Messages?

           Or effects of motions?

The moon is already high

and now illuminates

the damp sinuous valley

and the white strip of street,

 resounding of pebble..

Moon, dear terrestrial lamp

by now mysteryless,

fellow traveller on ethereal paths,

now with us, every night,

you observe in amazement

the immense,

inexplicable

motion of the universes.

Luna

Contro sagome nere

di rami contorti

sorge, bianca, la luna invernale.

                 Poesia per poeti di ieri…

          Nostalgia di misteri.

  Luna:

allunaggio, albedo, circhi, crateri,

eclissi, sigizie, librazioni,

epicicloide, epigeo, apogeo,

quadrature, nodi, nutazioni...

    Luna:  emozioni ?

     Nessuna.

E allora lo sguardo va oltre :

Andromeda, Vega,

Orione e Perseo

e  il tenue chiarore

di una galassia non troppo lontana.

      Nuovi pianeti, altri mondi ?

  Qualcuno ci chiama ?

Poi, un tuffo nel vuoto

degli spazi profondi,

là, ove il Grande Attrattore,

con spirali fiammanti

con immenso e insaziabile ingorgo

il tempo e lo spazio e la massa divora.

    e l'antico mistero riaffiora

E poi oltre,

nebulose ed ammassi

con miliardi di astri brucianti.

E poi oltre

buchi invisibili e neri,

voraci ragni acquattati

nelle reti del cosmo,

impenetrabili misteri,

oscuri epitaffi di stelle,

esplose e scomparse,

in un lampo!

E poi oltre...

indietro nel tempo:

una coltre

di luci tremanti,

di flebili quasar,

di ritmiche pulsar.

E poi oltre..

una pioggia di invisibili raggi

partiti  nell’inizio del Tempo.

           Messaggi?

         O effetti di moti ?

La luna è già alta

ed ora rischiara

     l’umida valle sinuosa

e il bianco nastro di strada

che suona di ghiaia...

Luna, caro lampione terrestre

ormai senza misteri,

compagna di viaggio

su eterei sentieri,

che  ora con noi, ogni notte,

 attonita osservi

l'immenso,

inspiegabile

moto degli universi.

Terra, antica giostra

(domande senza risposte)

Terra che nei sotterranei suoli

amorevolmente copri

tutte le trapassate vite,

Terra che sulla rosicchiata crosta

fermenti le attuali brulicanti vite,

Terra che sei roccia, humus e fango,

che sei deserto, foreste e mare

Terra, perenne giostra,

che nei silenziosi vuoti

trascini, senza sosta,

l’umano formicaio folle

che ti insozza e ti consuma.

Terra che senza senso ruoti

nell’immenso cosmo nero

con miliardi di sorelle

costretta dal flusso del futuro

Terra, dove ci porti?

Terra, perché ci porti?

Earth, the antique carousel

(unanswered questions)

Earth that in subterranean soils

Lovingly covers

all of the past lives

Earth that over the nibbled crust

You ferment the actual swarming lives

Earth, you’re rock, humus and mud

You’re a desert, a forest, a sea

Earth, perpetual carousel

That within silent emptiness voids

You haul on, without stopping,

The mad human anthill

That dirties you and consumes you

Earth that without sense you rotate

In the immense cosmic black

With billions of sisters

Compelled by the flow of the future

Earth, where are you taking us?

Earth, why are you taking us there?
